One of our clients are looking for a Head of Marketing to join their expanding team in North Somerset.

The role objective is to support the delivery of their revenue targets, working to meet the group's business goals in both the short and long term.

Their strategy is to lever the organisation's range of tourism products and grow profitable markets to increase sales and improve gross margins, while building the brand, enhancing profile and establishing strong collaborative relationships across a variety of sectors and networks. Achieving this objective will require close teamwork and alignment between this role and that of their Senior Leadership Team.

Although the role demands a professional standard of competency in strategy and analysis the right person must also be practical and willing to be hands-on delivering solutions and making positive changes, with collaboration from the team at all levels.


Key Tasks:

Marketing strategy:

  • Develop and drive the social and digital activity plan aligned to their goals and business objectives.

  • Be responsible for direct content of their social platforms

  • Manage use of external agencies if unable to produce requirements in house.

  • Ensure that their on-line presence is aligned with their brand values and consistently delivers towards our company objectives

Social & Digital:

  • Edit and create central campaign assets for local markets across the region that ‘tell the story’, and drives lead generation and increases brand recognition, tailoring as appropriate to best meet local needs.

    • Regular liaison with the MM – Campuses that establishes strong feedback loops which ensures the regular capture of local campus content for editing and campaign creation, with the team being aware of what is happening on every campus.

Sales Activity:

  • Work closely with the Holiday Home Ownership and Holiday Sales team to drive revenue through marketing activity

  • Create marketing assets and materials which are eye catching, professional and add-value

  • Proactively support the sales teams’ commercial objectives by providing them with appropriate market data, insights and marketing materials.

  • Identify opportunities for new business channels or customers through marketing insight

  • Understand the varied demographic of their customer base to attract customers across all areas of holiday home sales, hire fleet customers and attraction guests

Content/ PR & Events:

  • Be responsible for the creation and delivery of promotional events, campaigns, and activities

  • Plan and execute specific campaigns to support new products and service launches

  • Deliver an increase in brand reach and awareness through awareness campaigns and innovative ways of marketing the brand.

Budget Accountability:

  • Be accountable for the Marketing budget to achieve maximum ROI on expenditure.

  • Allocate resources amongst projects/campaigns and measure their performance and potential ROI

  • Provide Marketing reports and updates for the weekly leadership team meetings

Team:

  • Lead, mentor and develop the Marketing team to help them to improve their knowledge and skills so that they can be key contributors to the delivery of the marketing plan.

  • Be a role model for the business values both internally and externally.

  • Be an active member of the Leadership Team.


Dispostion & requirements:

  • Experience in driving brand awareness

  • Confident, driven and dynamic marketer with strong organisational skills

  • Proactive mind-set always on the look out for new opportunities

  • Excellent analytical skills – skilled in data analytics to include on-line tools such as Google Analytics, SEO, web trends etc

  • Experience in the use of Digital marketing tools

  • Creative and forward thinking

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time

  • Proven experience of negotiating and managing agreements

  • Experience in tourism/hospitality industry.

  • Driving license
