One of our clients are looking for a multiple Finance Analyst to join their expanding team.
Purpose:
Supporting the Business and Finance Team you will be integral to establishing, testing and maintaining a comprehensive suite of reports, workflows and data models across all business areas.
You will work with internal and external stakeholders to guide data strategy and best practice to
ensure solutions are fit for purpose and provide optimum value.
Key responsibilities:
- Create new and update existing Finance reporting via NetSuite, Vantage & Sugar systems.
- Suggest and implement ways to improve current Finance reporting processes.
- Own and manage the company’s data systems such as Alteryx and Power BI. Manage users and
data ingestion and be responsible for the data held and reports generated.
- Drive efficiency by identifying customer profitability and supplier billing queries.
- Manage, Transform, and Interpret data, and analyze results using statistical techniques and
provide ongoing reports.
- Design and implement data analysis, data collection, and other processes that deliver the key
objectives of your stakeholders. E.g. improving existing reporting from extraction of data from our
various Finance/Database systems.
- Maintain and improve BI gathering, storage, and transformation.
- Work closely with senior members of the business, with an aim to improve financial and organizational efficiency offering guidance in both data analytics.
- Filter and “clean” data by continuously reviewing ingestion processes, reports, and performance
indicators.
- Ensure the integrity of the data of existing and newly created reports.
- Assist in Budget/Forecast process.
- Ad hoc Finance tasks
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Personal Qualities - A positive, proactive, can-do attitude and a desire to learn and develop
new skills. Has the ability to work with stakeholders at all levels to gather requirements. Shows
meticulous attention to detail & high-quality standards relating to data analysis, and reporting.
Is confident, professional, and calm under pressure, and an analytical thinker with strong investigative skills.
- Education – BSc in Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, or a similar field.
- Data Competency — Has experience in using Microsoft Excel and Power BI Must have. Proficient in capturing, transforming, and managing large data sets. Knowledge of Qlik Sense would be good but not essential.
- IT Skills — Technically minded with an understanding of software and solution technologies.
Experience of the Microsoft Office product suite and an ability to quickly learn how to use and
administer new software tools and programs.
- Client Facing Skills - Naturally good at building professional relationships and establishing trust in your own skill sets. Able to interact with stakeholders to identify and map processes, obtain data, guide discovery activities and discussions before presenting ideas and findings.
- Communication — Good at explaining and discussing potentially complex concepts or results at
a high-level with non-expert colleagues and clients. Comfortable leading conversations and
delivering presentations relating to data or solutions internally and externally.
- Collaboration — Enjoy working as part of a team as well as driving some projects by yourself.
Comfortable working with different stakeholders and happy carrying out reasonable requests to
support other business units.
- Workload Management — Experience of managing multiple projects with different levels of
importance and timeframes, and prioritizing work accordingly for different stakeholders. While
also correctly setting and managing stakeholder expectations.
- Passion for Technology — Generally interested in the latest technologies and innovations
regarding data and technology. Often spends personal time researching, reading and expanding
knowledge.
Competencies:
The following competencies are required:
- Experience using Business Intelligence tools such as Qlik Sense and Power BI.
- Experience of using NetSuite and Vantage or similar.
- Finance/accounting experience.
The following competencies are desirable:
- Experience using Business Intelligence tools such as Alteryx
